This qualification supports your progression in becoming a more competent Sports Massage Therapist. Where you will undertake a practitioner's role of planning, providing and evaluating sport massage treatments to seek to correct common patterns of dysfunction, and sports injuries, using a range of basic and more advanced soft tissue and neuromuscular massage techniques. Helping you to further build and maintain your client base and your abilities to support the treatment programmes of athletes and sporting populations.
Our Level 4 course has a blended learning approach giving you flexibility with your studies. Learners initially access the first part of their course online at home with learning resources provided and supported by our E-Learning platform that hosts the main theory aspects of the course. Followed by then attending 6 practical workshop days over 3 weekends.
Practical Workshops
Our practical workshops are delivered by leading sports massage professionals, ensuring that you learn from those who have experience and can pass on their own knowledge on how to apply sports massage techniques to a range of different clients and dysfunction and injury needs.
You will learn how to professionally and competently use clinical assessment and more advanced massage techniques (including trigger point therapy, connective tissue therapy, frictions, soft tissue release and muscle energy techniques) to assess, treat and assist your clients. Giving you the skill set and knowledge to treat individuals who have sustained injury or suffer from soft tissue dysfunction in all areas of the body that include:

Our workshops will fully prepare you prior to you undertaking the practical assessments of the course. The practical workshops complete the course content along with the online work. There are 6 days in total and delivered in the Cambridgeshire area.
E- Learning / Home Study
The home study resources we provide you as well as access to your online E-learning will host the theory content of your course, all delivered as interactive learner led lessons.

Along with hosting your course content, the online platform will become a point of reference for you when it is often needed the most - when you are preparing from your practical assessment or later working with your paying clients as a Sports Massage Therapist.
Course Assessments
It is important when enrolling on to our course that you have a clear timeline to completion and an understanding of what you need to do to pass. As soon as you enrol, your course support tutor will be in touch with you to go through your assessment plan. This will essentially be your timeline to completion and will set you some motivation with your studies and targets to aim for. The course consists of both online and practical assessments.
Online Assessments
Our online end-of-unit assessments can all be done from the comfort of your own home when you are ready to do so. Your Personal Tutor will be at hand to help with any revision and to get everything organised for you.
Once you complete a unit online, it can be assessed immediately, allowing you to do the assessment whilst the knowledge is fresh and to save you hanging around for an exam.
Some units will be passed by completing some of your course portfolio (Learner Assessment Record), written worksheets and Client Case-Study.

Practical Assessments
To showcase the knowledge, you have learnt from the practical workshops, online content, and to allow you to show us how you want to be acknowledged as a Performance Therapist, you will build up a course portfolio of a variety of Sports Massage treatments performed on your own client. This will form your client case-study assessment.
This helps you build up your experience, knowledge and confidence in delivering sports massage providing a variety of different treatments.
Part of your practical workshops you will undertake 3 individually observed sports massage treatments related to specific client injury scenarios.
Having provided your clients with a consultation and assessment, you will be assessed upon planning, providing and evaluating your massage treatments.
